So glad learning styles have changed!
We received a postcard from Germany today. The sender of the card offered a translation of the message on the front. She reports that the card says "Certainly and fast it makes the head smart." The message, as she explains, goes with the Nurnberger funnel to describe an old-fashioned method of learning. This method suggests that the best way to learn is to know everything by heart.
I am so glad that we no longer are required to learn everything by heart, but instead have instructors that acknowledge that we cannot retain a memory of everything we've ever learned and be able to remember it all on demand!
