We finally closed on our new house this past Friday. It was a day that never seemed like it would get here, and I'm so glad that it went as smoothly as it did!
Now we are busy getting the house ready for us to move in. We have to have everything painted by mid-week, as our new flooring is being installed later this week. Other than the border in the boys' room, the painting in the bathroom (which doesn't have a window so we were unable to work on it until we get the power turned on, hopefully today), some stenciling in Angel Baby's room, and a little trim work in the hallway, we are done with the upstairs. We've even managed to finish most of the stairway. Downstairs will take a lot more work, and I'm hoping we can get it knocked out by tomorrow night.
The neighbors have been awesome so far! They've been very welcoming, introducing themselves and offering us drinks. It's such a change of pace from our current neighborhood, where it took almost a year to even get any of the neighbors to do more than wave or say hello and actually introduce themselves. We've been here over 9 years, and there are still a ton of neighbors that do little more than wave. There are few that we actually know the names of. It's amazing how different the two neighborhoods are, and we're looking forward to being in our new home permanently.
