Our house is abuzz with action. The house is decorated, the presents are wrapped, the cookies are baked. The house has even been cleaned, with the exception of some light mopping to be done after lunch. We are well prepared for tonight's visit by the man in red. Yup, the kids are anxiously awaiting Santa's arrival.
We've been watching Santa's progress via the Norad Santa Tracker. We got up early this morning to find that he'd already made his first stops in New Zealand and Australia. We're keeping an eye out for him to start making his way our direction.
Of course, we won't have the full day to sit and watch. Tonight, we're going to a candlelight service at church, and we plan to come home and watch The Polar Express afterward, which we'll follow up by putting the kids to bed.
Hopefully it won't take Little Man as long to fall asleep tonight as it did last night. He was completely convinced that Santa was coming last night instead of tonight, arguing with me that since I'd told him we had to go to church first, and since we went to church on Sunday, that it must be Christmas Eve. Gotta love the logic of a three-year-old! He was so excited that he ended up staying up until around midnight. I think tonight we'll head to bed early in hopes of helping him fall asleep a little earlier. I hope Monster Man and Angel Baby will cooperate with that plan, as well, falling asleep early so that Santa can fill the space under the tree.
