What a busy weekend!

This weekend has been incredibly busy, especially yesterday.  In fact, yesterday was one of the busiest days we have had in a very long time.

We started off the morning bright and early (though I shouldn't really say bright since it was cold and rainy).  We got up before 7:00 and hurried to get around, pulling out of the driveway at 7:45 to head out for an audition.  Angel Baby had the opportunity yesterday to audition to sing the National Anthem for a minor league baseball team, the Gwinnett Braves.  If she is chosen, she will get to sing at one of their games this upcoming season.  She did really well, and I was so proud of her.

We left the auditions and ran to get a few groceries at a grocery store only a few minutes' drive from the stadium.  We didn't want to go too far because the stadium was having Fan Fest not longer after the auditions, and I wanted to get back to meet former Atlanta Brave Phil Neikro, my grandfather's favorite player who has always had special meaning to me.  Unfortunately, we were told that the autograph session was coming to an end right as we were finally getting to the front of the line, so we left without the autograph.  We instead met up with a friend and her family for lunch and to give them their tickets to last night's Gwinnett Gladiators hockey game, which we went to as part of Angel Baby's 12th birthday celebration.

After our lunch, we road the rather lengthy ride home to get back and get some things done before we needed to leave for the hockey game.  When my hubby got home from work, he had to get around in a hurry so that we could all leave to get to the game on time.  By the time we got to the arena, it was after 6:15, and the game was scheduled to begin at 7:00.  We had just enough time to meet up with everyone in our group, find our seats, and talk for a few minutes before the game began.  It was almost midnight when we got home last night and got everyone in bed.

It was a great day, and it was filled with a lot of excitement.  Today was busy, but nowhere near as busy as yesterday, and it was nice to have a little time to relax at the end of it all.  Gotta take advantage of those moments when I can right now since softball season is upon us.
