So much for a relaxing summer! The kids have only been out of school since the Thursday before Memorial Day, and the summer has already been packed with a frenzy of activity. Memorial Weekend, we had three cookouts to attend in a two day period, not counting the birthday party that Monster Man attended. We went swimming three days in a row, and the weekend flew right by us. That following week went really fast, as well. Between errands, visiting friends, and a photo shoot, we didn't have much time to relax during the week, either.
Friday night, Angel Baby sang the National Anthem at the Atlanta Motor Speedway for Friday Night Drags. She did a great job, especially knowing that she was singing in front of somewhere between 3,000 and 4,000 paid guests. It always amazes me that she can get in front of a crowd and sing without getting a case of the nerves.
Saturday, we had a pool party for church which took up a good portion of our Saturday, Sunday, we were back to church and then we had a family get-together at Coolray Stadium for a Gwinnett Braves game. What a fun way to get the family together, and it wasn't expensive at all! We really enjoyed it.
This week, the kids are attending Vacation Bible School at a local church. They have been enjoying going each evening. I always make it a point to take them to as many VBS programs as I can since it gives them a chance to spend time with other kids, learning about God, and having a lot of fun. We have a couple other VBS programs in the weeks to come, and then both Angel Baby and Monster Man will be spending time at camps this year.
To top it all off, I am taking summer classes through the college, so I am busy with those as well. It is a vry busy summer indeed, but it is going to be a productive one, as well.
